Each pack comes with a color chart for its type. Keep it near the litter box so it's easy to compare when you scoop.
The rule of thumb
It's the same for both types:
- The usual color: nothing to do.
- A change: look again at your next scoop.
- A change that stays or comes back, or any change in your cat's behavior: call your vet and tell them what you saw.
Tips for a clear read
- Light-colored clumping litter makes the color easiest to see.
- Check in good daylight if you can.
- Add a fresh bag each time you fully change the litter.
A color change is a reason to call your vet, not a diagnosis. Tailvine indicators are not medical tests.
